Jeanne, who first visited us last year, brought a couple of friends with her today. Sam was dead keen after seeing the Earthship in Fife and got stuck right in pick-axing away at 'that rock' in the front face. We'll have a planter before ya know it at this rate.

Jeanne and Janet getting high while treating the ceiling planks (yes, those never ending ceiling planks). Only another 80 to go ladies!

Wattle and daub

After all our mud pie making last week I was dying to see the dried result this week. And what a result! The scratch coat is as solid as a rock and, even though the finish coat is a bit cracked, it has a lovely feel to it and is also solid. I think the cracking is because it dried out too quickly in the sun and, as it was a test and we didn't have the time for the scratch coat to dry, we'd put it on top of a wet layer. I only know this because that's what happens to an oil painting if you apply a thin layer of paint onto a thick not fully dried layer.

Central columns

I forgot to take a piccie of these last week, so here they are now - nice and central and ready for the bond beam to be put on.
