19 - 26 Aug 10

19 Aug

We had another group of Sunseeders visit today - here's Dave giving the 'thump a tyre' demo with his air sledge hammer - way to go Dave!

I've probably said this before, but it's lovely to have a group on site. We had some making skylights, others boraxing planks, and the chain gang leveling the floor in the round room (the dreaded spider pit) - so much energy!

And all still smiling at the end of the day. Thanks guys for your wonderful enthusiasm and energy, you got loads done.

26 Aug

First thing today was marking out the utility room, bathroom and kitchen cabinets so we could work out where the flue for the back-up gas boiler needs to go - and also see if my plans work on the ground so to speak. I know it's only a few wobbly white lines on dust but it's very exciting, and, after a few false starts, all seemed to work as planned.

Then it was back to chiseling beams to take the brackets for Dave...

...and planter shaping for me - hot work indeed.

And the finished (for the day) products -

Not that this is a competition or nufink, but I had to show you the pile of chippings Dave produced by the end of the day, and the mound of earth I created.
