Mind your fingers....

After a couple of false starts this year, we're back with a vengeance and hoping to be in the earthship before the end of summer - we love deadlines, they make such a great sound as they whizz past (as Douglas Adams famously said).

Anyway, Dave has been sorting out a guard for the dreaded bench saw, and today was the first time it's been used since it bit his fingers. And here's the photo to prove it. Rosie and Hanna from Sunseed helped him steady the wood and he didn't get his fingers anywhere near the blade, pheew.

Sandags and pick-axing

While Dave was cutting the wood for the second level of the geodesic dome, Rosalind, Rebecca (alias Jon Smith), Sebastian and I chunked away at the back interior wall to take it back to 30cm from the tyres. And the soil, or should I say dust and rocks, that came off it went straight into the sandbags to finish off the berm around the water tank.

Thanks guys, hope you enjoyed your day with us.
